Off to Find My Patience

I am sitting here waiting for some glue to dry and feeling awfully impatient. It's far too blustery to do anything fun outside even though the sun is out, so, I'm finishing up my experimental wallet. It's kind of a combination between my travel wallet style and my envelope style wallet. It's got two large slip pockets, one interior zip pocket, four card pockets, and a roomy interior. I went with a super vibrant violet suede this time and appliqued with orange, fuchsia, and emerald green leather and suede. I call it an experiment mostly because of it's size. I am thinking of making it a bit bigger so It will another couple of card pockets. That seems to be the one thing I am asked for most often is lots and lots of pockets for cards. This one is being made just so I can see if it's worth it to make more. So the experiment sits on my table getting it's glue all dried and set and I am watching Ed as she bounces and sings to her new best friend the block of wood. Pretty cute stuff.

My next few leathery projects are promising great fun and excitement! A new collar(or two) and another couple of wristlets. I am so ready to get them going now that I am having a hard time concentrating! So with that I bid farewell for now and hop down the road. I'm off to find my patience!

Bubbling and Boiling

yes, things are bubbling, brewing, and boiling over here in my secret laboratory. Mostly in my head at the moment. The ideas are fighting with a nasty cold I picked up somewhere this week. Ciaran's got it too, so no sleep for me the last few nights, which is making me a very grouchy lady. I am using my "grouchy time" to draw up new designs and reconfigure old ones. Since my eyes are pretty much a wreck when my sinuses are all messy and wrong, I don't do much as far as sewing. I do however, do lots of drawing, cutting and gluing. I managed to plow my way through a pile of coin pouches and wallets yesterday and once my head is a bit clearer, I plan to sew, sew, sew and get these babies listed!

I am also collecting more and more for my collar project. I was going through my stash this morning and thought I would snap a pic, just so I could show you all what I have going on. I forgot how much I love antique and vintage items, so full of mystery. I am crossing my fingers that I can finish up the initial collection of antique beads and baubles by the end of the month so I can get this show on the road. I am still looking for the perfect black buttons for closures, a bunch of little teeny tiny black beads, and a handful of beaded trim and applique, then it's full steam ahead!(here's to hoping anyways!)

Waiting Around

Today is the day that Mark's big box of beer comes. So I offered to wait around until it comes. The only thing is that my kids are antsy! Ciaran NEEDS to get outside, and little Ms. Ed kept me up for most of the early morning hours being fidgety and still is. She is my precious gassy girl! So today I am taking the opportunity to oxyclean some stuff, since it has to soak and be rinsed throughout the day, and I will be here basically doing nothing. But, I will use my down time to put together a couple of special projects for special people in my life. I can do this during nap time! I actually managed to list another travel wallet on Etsy yesterday during nap time. I was so excited! Although, as usual, Ed woke up during my photo session and would not go back to sleep for anything. She is sleeping more though, and is starting to have regular nap times, not just little cat naps here and there. I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Its getting a little easier to find the time to work now that Ed is older and easily entertained by her toys. A lot of times I just plop her down next to me and we talk and make faces at each other as I cut and glue things. It's the sewing part that is harder to get to. She is super alert and any little sound, light, or change in temperature catches her attention and bugs her, so my sewing(unless the gassy one is in her crib)is done to the soundtrack of fussy baby. Oh well, can't please them all the time. I just hope that someday she'll get used to it so I can get this huge pile of ready to sew things off my table and into my shops....Oh, and I still have to sew together my diaper bag. Hopefully, I will get to that before she's out of diapers.

New Stuff!

I have a couple of new things to share. I have been lucky enough to get to work pretty consistently the past few days and have actually made a small dent in the piles of leathery goodness that occupy my work space. It feels good to just jump in there and get going! So I share with you a new billfold and a new pouch/wallet design. Still working on the pouch design, it needs a little something, but I like it! Today I am finishing up a new travel wallet and a small envelope wallet to share with you tomorrow. Yipee for being productive!!!! Hopefully, I will have a lot more to share with you in the next few weeks:)

Itchy, Splotchy Fun!

Here I go back to work covered with hives and my head on fire. Itchy eyes, nose, ears, and throat combined with one heck of a splotchy body and ZZZZZZOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! Full speed ahead. I think working through this allergy bummerness is the only way to cope. Plus I am excited about working on a fun color combination in bright pink, lime green, purple, and turquoise. I think it will be yummy! We will see how long I last before I get to uncomfortable to do anything other than lay on the couch and feel sorry for myself:)
