New Designs or More of the Same?

That is what my dilemma is this week. I am all done with crazy paperwork stuff and moving on to some intensive sewing projects. Mainly for me, I am in desperate need of bigger, stretchier clothes these days, has something to do with that whole being pregnant again thing. (Yes, I finally get to spill the beans! thirteen and a half weeks and excited, nervous, happy, overwhelmed, and of course sicker than a dog:) So I will be making a couple of skirts for myself, and a top or two. Should be fun. I miss sewing for myself. So, finding the time to sew for myself on top of stocking up my shops, and coming up with new designs is a bit much right now. I am pretty happy with the designs I have established already, but I always want to challenge myself more. So I continually think of improvements or new designs. It's driving me bonkers! I guess I will take the day to clean-up, organize, and get those thoughts all put in place in my head. I am sure I will eventually come to a decision..............and then I will probably change my mind...........again!

Spring Cleaning

I decided to get a little bit of cleaning and organizing done. I am making myself three tasks a day each week to do to get our little place organized. So far I have two gross tasks and one o.k. one for today. I get to clean out the fridge, which smells like the most horrible halitosis ever, thanks to the two week old chicken mushroom surprise quietly melting into the top shelf, and many other lost and forgotten food items that get pushed to the very back and ignored. Then I get to clean the mushrooms and hair clumps out of the faucet in the tub, this strangely fascinates me, the fungus that grows is absolutely gorgeous but I just hate having to pry it out with a screwdriver, and the hair clumps are disgusting, but I feel so accomplished when they are removed. Finally, I get to sort Ciaran's old baby clothes into little piles: one for dumping(cause they are just too stained or damaged for use), the other for storage. How exciting! Then I can finally work on my leatha!

My Mom Makes Some Cute Stuff!

I thought I would take today to plug my mom's shop a little bit. She is Brendashop on Etsy. We did the Design Collective together a couple of weeks ago and I got to see some of her new pieces. She has been making little fleece jackets, ponchos, outfits, hats, and socks for babies. She started making the baby jackets and outfits when we found that the color and design for baby boy clothing is really awful and boring for the most part. I hate graphics and refuse to only dress Ciaran in blue, grey, or green. I wanted something that was still a bit boyish but had a little extra pizazz. Which is incredibly hard to find int the stores. I really love the little jacket she made for Ciaran when he was tiny, he looks so cute in it. It is a little small on him now that he has decided to grow like a weed but he will wear it until the little sleeves are up to his elbows cause it's so darn cute!!!! My mom started making fleece ponchos for adults a few years back and they just hit big time! She has become a little discouraged with her baby clothes because they aren't selling right now, I think it's just a matter of time and exposure, I am helping with the exposure part.
