What a Beautiful Day!

We are blessed with a very sunny and warmish day today. Not only that but my honey has a car for the week and will be taking us on a little adventure later. What fun! So far I have spent my day deterring a wasp from starting a nest under the eaves of our apartment, hand washing my few pieces of clothing that fit right now, and deciding on what type of swivel clips to buy for my next round of wallet making. Now I look forward to finishing up a couple of projects and getting ready for a little adventure. Today will probably be a little drive to the coffee place for a cookie and a warm and slightly jittery beverage for me and the boy and then a drive through the bottoms to say hi to the cows. Always fun:)

Can I Go And Play Now?

I got all of my chores done.......well, the ones that I needed to get done today, and I feel o.k. today. So, can I go play now? A walk, a trip downtown, a trip to the coffee place, a trip SOMEWHERE, ANYWHERE! I need to get out of this chair and out of the house. Doesn't matter that it is pouring rain and I can only find my sandals. I just need to get out! Gonna bundle up the boy and hit the road. See you all after my adventure!

Those Were The Days

"Here is my heart, don't break it!" I said that to some dumbass in high school that I swore I was madly in love with and gave him this super cute antique crystal heart as a little keepsake. I thought it was all sentimental and cute at the time, now I kick myself because he turned out to be a booger gone bad, and I lost one of my favorite little pieces of jewelry. Bummer. That experience has made me learn to keep my good jewelry to myself, and to not share it with people that don't appreciate it. Big obscene gestures to that mean dude that eventually broke my real heart (I am not sure about what happened to the crystal heart, I imagine he gave it to some other girl , who knows.) ..........................Not that I am bitter or anything:)

I just talked to my mom this morning. She was a little teary and sad. My uncle Dave sent my mom a big box of family photos and my mom had just gone through them. She commented on how cute my sisters and I all were when we were kids and I joked "Yeah? and look what has happened to us!" She laughed but said that it wasn't that we aren't all still cute but that it was something kids had about them naturally. Excitement, amazement, joy, all the things that we don't always show when we are adults. We came to the conclusion that it is a goal to keep some of those feelings about the world within our hearts throughout our lives, to make our time here worth it. Now, I have to say that this is a new goal for me, a few years back my goal was just to survive the day, go home, or go out and buy some shoes to soak up some of my exhaustion and depression. With Ciaran here, I see things a little differently. Not that the world is perfect and beautiful all the time, because it is definitely not, but if you can look past all the crap going on out there, it is a wonderful, mysterious place, full of adventures of your choosing. Yes, it is a choose your own adventure kind of place. That is how my son is seeing the world now, and I don't want me or anyone else to mess that up for him in any way.

We learned yesterday that Humbug is suffering from kidney failure and an infection of some sort. She seems to be feeling a little better, her appetite has improved and she has perked up a bit, but her kidneys don't seem to want to cooperate. We will be keeping her happy and comfortable at home for the meanwhile.

You Must Be Tired of Seeing These By Now

I think I post more pictures of my wallets here than in my shop. Well, each time I finish one I get all bubbly and happy and have to show it off somewhere. Since this is my little place to talk about myself, I figure it's better here than somewhere else. I am going to be so sad when I run out of this crazy orange suede. It is so incredibly soft and yummy to look at. I am supposed to be getting another orange suede jacket sometime soon ,but I think that one will be a little less on the pink side and more on the yellow side.

So yesterday was another day of illness. I felt awful most of the day but still had to get out for some sewing supplies. On the way to the fabric store we almost had a large accident which helped that whole feeling sick to my stomach thing so much! I just can't put it into words. Luckily we were all o.k. I think my feet will be in "slam on the brakes" mode permanently. Once again, my stomach and it's contents spent most of the afternoon trying to claw their way out. By the evening I was better but tired, Ciaran couldn't have cared less. Happy little guy all around. Just happy to be happy I guess. I wish I was more like him.

Today is a brand new day! We will be heading downtown to do some mailing, dinner hunting, and treasure hunting, as well as a visit to Mark at work. Thankfully no car rides today. Yipee!
