New and Improved

This is my first new and improved travel wallet. I made it a little roomier, and added a couple extra card pockets. I went with this beautiful caramel colored leather because it is so darn smooth and soft! I am having way too much fun with the leaf and vine designs right now. I am trying to expand my horizons, but it is tricky when one thing just appeals so much to my eyeballs. We will see what I come up with next time. I still have a thing for polka dots so that may show up in a few more of these little wallets. Polka dots just make me happy. When I was a kid my sisters and I fought over a little orange dress with magenta polka dots on it. Of course, when it was my turn to wear it, I ended up falling asleep with a piece of gum in my mouth and waking up to all of my hair stuck to the dress and ended up having to be cut out of the dress. It was the end of my long hair and the end of the polka dot dress. It was a sad day. I never napped with gum in my mouth after that. In fact, I don't know why I had gum in the first place. I have always hated chewing gum. I don't know why but it grosses me out. I would rather chew on a stinky sock than chew gum. Blahhh!!!!

In other news, no news on Humbug yet. I am hoping we will learn a little more today, but I am not holding my breath. She seems a little more on the perky side today. She was begging for food this morning which has not been the case for a while now. I take that as a good sign for the day. Right now she is spying on me as I write this from between Mark's shoes. I think she is saying "Hurry up and finish writing, I need a lap to curl up in, NOW!" I must obey the queen.

I Can't Move!

So for some reason, I can not move my upper body this morning. I don't know what happened but my neck, shoulders, and the middle of my back feel like they will break if I move at all. So instead of working my butt off today on wallets I will be trying everything under the sun to get rid of some of this discomfort.

I did happen to finish my first button/zippy wallet last night. I really like it! I am hoping that the zipper compartment will come in handy, I always find a little extra storage helpful. I have quite a few others ready to go but no such luck until I can move my upper body again. The next color combo is a lovely sage green with black, lavender, and grey appliques on it. I think it's going to be yummy but we will see when all is said and done.

Yesterday, we went for a nice walk downtown to the post office and to Mark's work. Mark was sweet enough to get Ciaran a whole bunch of balloons to play with and I ended up having to tie them to the stroller and bring them home. My last adventure with balloons nearly got me killed. I got a huge balloon bouquet from a co-worker many years ago and they all flew in my face while I was driving home from work, and almost caused me to lose control of my car. Luckily, I was driving late at night and there was no traffic, so I would have been the only victim of the balloons. The only rotten thing that happened with the balloons yesterday, was getting all tangled up in the balloon strings here and there and would have to untangle myself. It got to be pretty tiring by the time we hit our corner. I was ready to set them all free but I just couldn't do that to my little son. That would make me an extra mean mommy. I am only mean sometimes.....usually Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 to 10:30 am.

You Must Be Tired of Seeing These By Now

I think I post more pictures of my wallets here than in my shop. Well, each time I finish one I get all bubbly and happy and have to show it off somewhere. Since this is my little place to talk about myself, I figure it's better here than somewhere else. I am going to be so sad when I run out of this crazy orange suede. It is so incredibly soft and yummy to look at. I am supposed to be getting another orange suede jacket sometime soon ,but I think that one will be a little less on the pink side and more on the yellow side.

So yesterday was another day of illness. I felt awful most of the day but still had to get out for some sewing supplies. On the way to the fabric store we almost had a large accident which helped that whole feeling sick to my stomach thing so much! I just can't put it into words. Luckily we were all o.k. I think my feet will be in "slam on the brakes" mode permanently. Once again, my stomach and it's contents spent most of the afternoon trying to claw their way out. By the evening I was better but tired, Ciaran couldn't have cared less. Happy little guy all around. Just happy to be happy I guess. I wish I was more like him.

Today is a brand new day! We will be heading downtown to do some mailing, dinner hunting, and treasure hunting, as well as a visit to Mark at work. Thankfully no car rides today. Yipee!
