New Stuff and Stuff

I am finishing up wallets left and right here and thought I would go ahead and list one today!  So here we go!  This one in red, rust, purple, and brown is now all set for it's new home in my Etsy shop.  It has been really busy the last few days but fun and busy which is my favorite.  A little bit of sewing, a visit to the pumpkin patch, helping in Ed's classroom, the school carnival, and getting ready for the very many birthdays that October brings us, not to mention Halloween!  Luckily, the kids both have their costumes already.  Just a little bit of fussing and fixing and all will be done for the big day!  I for see many fun times ahead. Happy October!

I'm makin' lots of stuff!

It's been busy around here the last few weeks.  I managed to make it through Edolie's birthday AND Halloween without pulling all of my hair out.  I also managed to finish up a stack of 23 billfolds and am furiously sewing through a pile of coin pouches to be done in the next day or so.  Fun times!  I am desperately trying to get a lot done and listed in my shop to reach my goal of at least 50 items in my shop and a few extra for my upcoming show at the end of the month.  I'm crossing my fingers it will all come together:)  I decided to show off the first three billfolds that I finished up for my Etsy shop.  Now I'm off to do a little bit of cleaning before I hit the sewing machine again.

Confusion Is My Middle Name?

At least I think it is! I am working hard at figuring out my new sewing machine. So far, so good but I get thrown for a loop once in awhile. The whole tension thing has confuzzled my brain! I think I have it.........then I don't. I am hoping I will be able to sew soon without the owner's manual sitting in my lap. I would be a lot more comfortable. I did manage to finish the little devil's finery on it though and it worked beautifully. There he is above in all his devilish wonderment. He had such a great time downtown. He was delighted the whole time and very proud of his costume.(So was his mommy!) We had a blast and it even waited to storm until we were safe at home.

I love Halloween! It is so different now with a little one than back a few years. It is so exciting to see Ciaran get excited about it. It truly made my day to see him so happy in his costume and even happier that he didn't want his candy and handed it off to me. I do miss heading downtown late on Halloween night to costume watch at bar row on the plaza, but spending a stormy evening at home with my two favorite guys and some spooky movies was the best!

So the sewing and soldering rush is on. I just hope I get enough done to get through the holidays! While I await the arrival of some new leather needles, I will be cutting, gluing and soldering. I plan to tear butt over the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned for more details

The New And Improved Pouch!

So this is the new and improved pouch I have been working on. I decided to make it in the style of a messenger with an extra pocket in the front, and a zipper pocket and three other pockets inside. I love how it turned out. This one is a belated birthday present for a good friend of mine and I really hope she likes it. I put a key chain/clip on this one for a little added bonus and I think that is how I want to go with the rest of them. I think they come in handy. I am going to miss the lime green suede. I am down to the last few pieces now. So sad. Hopefully I will be getting my lovely green and yellow racer's jacket soon so I will have some bright kelly green to work with. That should liven things up a bit. I have decided to make my next pouch in teal and brown. I am adding an iridescent sheen to a piece of aqua suede I have and so far it looks marvelous! I am sure it will make a great pouch.

We had a lovely shopping day yesterday! I bought myself some new mineral make-up from HeavenlyNaturals and Ciaran and I picked out some lovely Halloween decorations. He went with the orange glow in the dark skeleton and I picked out a garland with all sorts of Halloween inspired characters for the inside. Next will be the pumpkin patch! I can't wait! I just have to remember to bring batteries for the camera this time.
