It Was a Good Day!

It rained all morning but let up in time for the big event "Trick or Treat on the Plaza"

We got home just in time to put out our jack o' lanterns and watch them glow

Tortoise Hell!

They're not happy. Not at all. It is supposed to be getting warmer. The rain is supposed to be gone by now. All they can do is huddle together underneath their fake sun and dream of the day they will be out in the garden again romping through the weeds and eating dandelions. Poor little friends. I feel like I should knit them both a sweater, scarf, and hat. They are so depressed they won't even eat the special treat of grapes I gave them. Come back soon, sunny warm weather!

Can I Go And Play Now?

I got all of my chores done.......well, the ones that I needed to get done today, and I feel o.k. today. So, can I go play now? A walk, a trip downtown, a trip to the coffee place, a trip SOMEWHERE, ANYWHERE! I need to get out of this chair and out of the house. Doesn't matter that it is pouring rain and I can only find my sandals. I just need to get out! Gonna bundle up the boy and hit the road. See you all after my adventure!

The Rain Keeps Raining...........

and I am getting restless! I miss my walks and adventures. I would go out in the rain but unfortunately, it's more like buckets than pitter-pats out there. Ciaran loves it no matter what but he has a little plastic bubble to protect him from the elements, while I get completely soaked to the bone. I do my best to wrap myself in all my waterproof gear but after so many years of walking in the rain everyday, no matter what the weather is like, I firmly believe that no matter how waterproof you think you are, you are never going to be waterproof enough. When I was still working I had told myself that I would no longer invest in rain gear because it was a waste of time. I would instead, just buy a pair of flip-flops and a wetsuit to wander around in......maybe some waterproof mascara if I wanted to dress it up a bit. It would be cold and uncomfortable, but a LOT less uncomfortable than having to sit all day in soggy clothes from top to bottom.

In other news, I have another new bag to share! Rainy days are fabulous for getting some work done:)

Rainy Friday!

I am so glad the kid and I got out for errands yesterday. It has been soaky-sopping wet since we got up this morning and I am just not feeling like being out in it. I have claimed today as "get all the little things done" day. I am cutting out wallets, finishing jewelry, and washing out living room walls. All this as well as playing with the kid and keeping an eye on our sickly old Humbug kitty. She has been suffering from an unknown ailment and we are trying to keep her comfortable and happy until we can get her in to the vet. I sure hope everything is o.k. she has been my little partner in crime for over fourteen years now! I don't know what I would do without her. I love her and I want her to get better, I just have a sinking feeling that she is wandering down that path to kitty heaven. Not immediately but soon. Sad stuff but inevitable. Man, sorry to be such a bring down! I am going to go back to cutting out my stuff now. Have a great weekend all!

I need to make a lot of these little snappy wallets by next Friday. That and some more cuffs. I think I may be working through the nights over the next week. That means lots of coffee and no sleep! Eek! I am already sleep deprived from getting up with Ciaran every night this week, poor little guy is still working on some teeth and has been waking up crying every night this week.

Other than that, I am finishing up my latest custom order which I am liking more as I go along. It is very " colorful and funky" according to my mummy. I still have to line it and make the strap but I am digging this new fangled thing I have made.

Today is gorgeous! One of the wonderful things about living up here in the most northern bits of California is the mild weather. The late summer is just awesome. This is when we get to have summer. We get sun and warmth with very little wind and very little fog. It is so amazing to see people out and about with short sleeves and big smiles, just happy to be out in the sun. Summers here are usually foggy, or sunny and windy, then by the end of August the sun is out and everyone is happy. A lovely ending to the season and then it starts to rain.
