Well for now, thank goodness. I watched one start a nest yesterday, actually very fascinating to watch. It broke my heart to pull it down and spray our eaves with yucky stinky stuff to deter them but I have no choice. I am very likely allergic to their stings and can't take the chance on getting stung or my little guy for that matter. He seems to be much more like his dad where these things go, but why take a chance. I just wish I had gotten a picture of the queen wasp and the start of the nest before they were both gone. The wasp was HUGE and lovely and the nest was just this beautiful delicate paper flower looking thing. Amazing creatures they truly are! I still only want to admire them from afar though.
So now it's back to hand washing my winter sweaters, finishing up some overdue projects, cutting out and sewing some maternity clothes, and experimenting with new cuffs and collars. Which feels good, since now I have a little extra energy to do it all! Yay!
a little of everything that's gurgling and bubbling away here in the lab!

How Many Sips Does it Take......
To wake up enough to start the day? My coffee isn't cutting it this morning. I am trying to get motivated but I keep finding myself staring off into space with one eye only partially opened. Not that I have tons to do, but enough that I should be working right now. Ciaran has no problem waking up, I wish I could just suck up a little of his energy and go with it!
I am excited about my day though. The expectation of some bright green leather in the mail, and a few little projects to sew. Oddly enough, I am actually really excited about doing a little closet organization. I am in the process of getting rid of some of my work clothes that I haven't worn in what seem a bazillion years. It will be nice to say goodbye to my old peanut butter and booger encrusted, bleach stained wardrobe. I can't see where my lovely outfits of this nature would work for me. I am NOT going to be looking out that way for more employment. Even if I do end up having to go back into working out of the home, I doubt anyone really notices that stuff (especially around here), but I do. Since I have given up my interest of working in the childcare field, I think full closure would be to give up the wardrobe. It will be nice to be free! (Although partially naked and free, because my old outfits are the only things that fit right now:)

Cuffs and Other New Stuff
I have been battling some sort of yuckiness the past few days and my Christmas projects have been put off. So with a lovely icy storm coming in from Alaska, the kiddo and I have been stuck inside for the last day or two. I decided to use that time to play around with my projects and think about some new items for my shops. I am playing around with some new cuff designs, very similar applique work to my wallets and upcoming handbags, and they look pretty good! I have one now that I am playing with, I will be adding some beads to it and figuring out a new closure for it. I love how the button and loop looks, it is extra comfortable during wear, but, some people just aren't in to that whole button thing. The cuff I have posted here is a little on the small side so the closure doesn't look fantastic like the others. So I will try a snap, and an elastic closure for my next few.
The handbag I am putting together is coming out great. A mixture of purples, mauves, and brown. Lots of texture, and a nice shape. I am messing around a bit with one of my older designs to make it a little more appealing. I am hopeful that I can put a few together to list in my shops when the new year comes. I am just so excited about new designs that it is hard to concentrate on just one. I hope everyone likes the new stuff. I am definitely having a great time coming up with new items.
